PUA 212® is a two component, modified Polyurethane Adhesive designed for the installation of ceramic tile, vitrified tile, metal tile, glass tile, agglomerates, glass mosaic tile and natural stone on any substrate. It is highly elastic, thixotropic and suitable to lay water sensitive tiles & stones on highly expandable, deformable, absorbent and non-absorbent substrates.

How to apply

 

Surface Preparation:

• All surfaces should be between 40° F(4° C) and 95° F(35° C) and structurally sound, clean and free of all dirt, oil, grease, loose peeling paint, laitance, concrete sealers or curing compounds.
• Substrates must be compact and consistent, free from any rising dampness, with no loose, flaky, or imperfectly anchored parts. The substrate must be stable, without cracks and have already completed the curing period of hygrometric shrinkage. Uneven areas must be corrected with suitable smoothing and finishing products
• Installation shall be made on a dry surface. New concrete slabs must be damp cured and at least 28 days old prior to application. All slabs must be plumb and true to within 1/4” (6mm) in 10ft (3m). Expansion joints shall be provided through the tile work from all construction or expansion joints in the substrate

• Follow ANSI Specification AN-3.8 “Requirements for Expansion Joints” or TCA Detail EJ171-91 “Expansion Joints”. Do not cover expansion joints with mortar. Glass Mesh Mortar Unit: follow TCA installation detail W244

Mixing: MYK LATICRETE PUA 212 is prepared by mixing together parts A and B from the bottom upwards, using a low-rev (≈ 400/min.) helicoidal agitator, with the preset ratio of 1: 4 of the packs. Pour part B into the bucket containing part B, being careful to mix the two parts uniformly until a smooth, even coloured mixture is obtained. The user must mix a quantity of adhesive which can be consumed within 1 hour at +25 °C / 50% R.H. Packs of MYK LATICRETE PUA 212 adhesive must be stored at a temperature of ≈ +25 °C for at least 2/3 days prior to use.

How to apply

 

How to Apply: Apply adhesive to the substrate with the flat side of the trowel, pressing firmly to work into surface. Comb on additional adhesive with the notched side. Use the proper sized notched trowel to insure full bedding of the tile. Spread as much adhesive as can be covered with tile in 10 minutes. Back butter large tiles (> 12”x12”) to provide full bedding and firm support. Place tiles into wet, sticky adhesive and beat in using a beating block and rubber mallet to imbed tile and adjust level. Check adhesive for complete coverage by periodically removing a tile and inspecting bedding adhesive transfer onto back of tile. If adhesive is skinned over (not sticky), remove and replace with fresh adhesive.Areas of Application For commercial and residential installations of ceramic tile, vitrified tile and natural stone over most drywall boards and clean cement based surfaces. When components of Weberepox easy are mixed, it forms a smooth, creamy & thixotropic paste, which makes it easy to mix, easy to apply, easy to clean and easy to maintain. At the same time, it also provides high mechanical and chemical resistance properties. The resultant is, an easy to use, high durability grout, which is available in an attractive range of colours

To know before applying

• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment’s (PPE) before mixing.
• Take 4 parts resin (component A), 1-part hardener (component B), 4: 1 by weight (3.75: 1 by volume)
• Mix the components thoroughly for 2-3 minutes to get a homogeneous paste and consistent color.
• Prolonged mixing is to be avoided as it traps air and shortens pot life.
• The mixed workable grout can be used for up to 80 minutes at 250 C.
• Wash tools immediately with water before the epoxy hardens. It is very difficult to remove after it has hardened.
• In case of mixing with a mechanical mixer a slow 100 rpm mechanical mixer is recommended.
• No water to be added in the mix.

Constraints

• Keep the working area protected for 48 hours after application. For swimming pools it is required to be kept protected for 72 hours.
• Weberepox easy can be easily cleaned with normal water. Harsh chemicals are not recommended & should be avoided.
• Performance and durability would depend on the maintenance of the installed area.
• For any household acid cleaning, it is to be done only after 10-14 days of application.

• Epoxy grout applications should not be done in excessive heat. After full curing weberepox 2K would resist temperatures between 0°C - 80°C.
• When weberepox 2K is used on exterior installations, colour variations may occur over time, especially with lighter shades due to ultraviolet rays or environmental contaminants.
• Please ensure compatibility of the tiles/stones with the mixed material. Please refer to the methodology of application section and the literature of the tile/stone manufacturer taking suitable precaution. It is always advisable to test a small sample area before grouting the entire area.

To know before applying

• Gradually add 2.5 parts of Weberset fastfix to 1 part of clean water (by volume) and mix it to a lump-free, smooth, workable paste using a suitable stirrer / low-speed drill mix / or any other appropriate tool.
• After mixing allow the mixture to stand for 2 minutes for it to mature

Application Method

• Clean the surface thoroughly. Remove dust, loose particles, oil & grease. Allow it to dry completely.
• Using a cutter, open up the cracks/gaps to form a V-shaped groove. This will help proper application of Seal-It and ensure strong adhesion with the substrate.
• Clean the crack/gap groove thoroughly. Remove all loose particles.
• For best results: Flood the cracks/gaps with Zycosil solution (1 part Zycosil+, 2 parts Zycoprime+ and 20 parts water). Let it dry for 6-8 hours. This ensures that the cracks/gaps are now internally waterproofed.
• Open the Seal-It container, add 5 ml (1 teaspoon) water to it. Scoop Seal ft with a spatula / gloved hand, and push it hard in the cracks/gaps (up to 5 mm width) as deep as possible.

Pre Painting Application

• Allow the Sealift filled cracks/gaps to dry completely. Sand it. Apply primer and paint on it, as per the recommendations of the manufacturer.

• Gradually add approximately 2.5 parts of powder to 1 part of weber groutadd by volume allow the admixture to wet the powder for 2 min and mix thoroughly to a smooth, workable, stiff paste consistency by slow speed mixer.
• Do not extend the pot life by adding more water to the mixed quantity
