weberset glass mosaic is a flexible, cement-based polymer modified tile adhesive for internal and external use, especially for Glass Mosaic. It is suitable for fixing all types of ceramic wall and floor tiles, mosaics, marble, terrazzo, natural stone, brick slips and glass blocks in dry or wet areas, including swimming pools.
It is particularly suited for areas with some movement, deflection or limited shrinkage is likely. It has the finest particle size which makes it easily workable enhancing the colours of the glass mosaic tiles. weberset glass mosaic has extended open and adjustability times making installation easier with no sagging or slippage. Being a high strength, flexible tile adhesive, it can be used for heavy-duty applications on a variety of substrates.
To know before applying

• Gradually add 2.5 parts of powder to 1 part of clean water (by volume) and mix it to a lump-free, smooth, workable paste using a suitable stirrer or a low-speed drill mix.
• Do not attempt to extend the pot life by adding more water to the mix.
• After mixing allow the mixture to stand for 2 minutes for it to mature.

To know before applying

• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment’s (PPE) before mixing.
• Take 4 parts resin (component A), 1-part hardener (component B), 4: 1 by weight (3.75: 1 by volume)
• Mix the components thoroughly for 2-3 minutes to get a homogeneous paste and consistent color.
• Prolonged mixing is to be avoided as it traps air and shortens pot life.
• The mixed workable grout can be used for up to 80 minutes at 250 C.
• Wash tools immediately with water before the epoxy hardens. It is very difficult to remove after it has hardened.
• In case of mixing with a mechanical mixer a slow 100 rpm mechanical mixer is recommended.
• No water to be added in the mix.

Constraints

• Keep the working area protected for 48 hours after application. For swimming pools it is required to be kept protected for 72 hours.
• Weberepox easy can be easily cleaned with normal water. Harsh chemicals are not recommended & should be avoided.

• For any household acid cleaning, it is to be done only after 10-14 days of application.

How to apply

 

How to Apply: Apply adhesive to the substrate with the flat side of the trowel, pressing firmly to work into surface. Comb on additional adhesive with the notched side. Use the proper sized notched trowel to insure full bedding of the tile. Spread as much adhesive as can be covered with tile in 10 minutes. Back butter large tiles (> 12”x12”) to provide full bedding and firm support. Place tiles into wet, sticky adhesive and beat in using a beating block and rubber mallet to imbed tile and adjust level. Check adhesive for complete coverage by periodically removing a tile and inspecting bedding adhesive transfer onto back of tile. If adhesive is skinned over (not sticky), remove and replace with fresh adhesive.Areas of Application For commercial and residential installations of ceramic tile, vitrified tile and natural stone over most drywall boards and clean cement based surfaces. For economy the surfaces should be level and true with in: Walls – 3mm in 2.5m Floors – 1.5mm in 1.0m Surface Preparation:

• If a plaster/leveling mortar bed is applied, ensure that it is cured for at least 7 days to achieve proper strength before application of tile adhesive for installation of tile
• Ensure the substrate is clean and free from impurities like dust, dirt, debris, oil, grease, curing agents, loose plaster etc
• Dampen the wall before application of thin set adhesive
• Clean the back of tile for any dust or coating

Mixing: The products can be mixed by hand or slow speed electric drill mixer (less than 300 rpm). Pour potable clean water in a clean container and then add the powder LATICRETE® 325 High Flex and mix until the mixture becomes creamy and plastic. Do not over mix. Leave the mix to slake for 5-10 min and remix before use. Mix only sufficient quantity of adhesive for immediate need. Proportion: Approximately 1 bag of LATICRETE® 325 High Flex with 5-6 ltrs of water. Adjust quantity of liquid to obtain proper consistency. Installation:

• Wet the surface and remove the excess water before applying the adhesive. Ensure the area is shaded from sunlight. The adhesive shall be applied with the flat side of the trowel using a scraping motion to work the material into good contact with the surface to be covered.
• Additional mortar is then applied with the notched edge of the trowel.
• When installing large tiles, spread adhesive onto back of tile in addition to trowelling material over surface to be tiled. Select proper type of notched trowel.

• The most important standard to keep in mind is to insure that the piece of tile is completely bedded in the mortar or adhesive with 100% coverage.
• Rear face of tiles (especially Porcelain tiles) should be cleaned with damp sponge to clean all the dust. Do not saturate in water.
• Excess mortar on adhesive shall be cleaned from the surface of the stone with wet cloth or sponge while the mortar is fresh.

How to apply

 

Surface Preparation:

• All surfaces should be between 40° F(4° C) and 95° F(35° C) and structurally sound, clean and free of all dirt, oil, grease, loose peeling paint, laitance, concrete sealers or curing compounds.
• Substrates must be compact and consistent, free from any rising dampness, with no loose, flaky, or imperfectly anchored parts. The substrate must be stable, without cracks and have already completed the curing period of hygrometric shrinkage. Uneven areas must be corrected with suitable smoothing and finishing products
• Installation shall be made on a dry surface. New concrete slabs must be damp cured and at least 28 days old prior to application. All slabs must be plumb and true to within 1/4” (6mm) in 10ft (3m). Expansion joints shall be provided through the tile work from all construction or expansion joints in the substrate

• Follow ANSI Specification AN-3.8 “Requirements for Expansion Joints” or TCA Detail EJ171-91 “Expansion Joints”. Do not cover expansion joints with mortar. Glass Mesh Mortar Unit: follow TCA installation detail W244

Mixing: MYK LATICRETE PUA 212 is prepared by mixing together parts A and B from the bottom upwards, using a low-rev (≈ 400/min.) helicoidal agitator, with the preset ratio of 1: 4 of the packs. Pour part B into the bucket containing part B, being careful to mix the two parts uniformly until a smooth, even coloured mixture is obtained. The user must mix a quantity of adhesive which can be consumed within 1 hour at +25 °C / 50% R.H. Packs of MYK LATICRETE PUA 212 adhesive must be stored at a temperature of ≈ +25 °C for at least 2/3 days prior to use.

weberfloor slurrybond is a highly polymer-modified, cementitious adhesive, that can be used in slurry form, on wet screed, for wet-on-wet fixing of tiles and stones, as well as an adhesive paste for fixing tiles and stones on floor and wall. In slurry form, it replaces the cement slurry which has been traditionally used for fixing floor tiles/stones. It also provides additional strength to the screed itself, and increase the tiling speed.

To know before applying

• Gradually add 6 parts Weberfloor slurrybond to 2 parts clean water (by volume) and mix it to a lump-free, smooth, workable paste using a suitable stirrer or a low-speed drill mix. This paste can be used as tile adhesive.
• To make a slurry, add additional 3 parts water, and mix to form a smooth, lump-free slurry.
• After mixing allow the mixture to stand for 5 minutes for it to mature.
• NOTE: Do not add anything, like additional water, cement or sand, to the mix, as it may adversely effect the performance of the product.

How to apply

 

Substrate: The surface to be covered with Ceramic tile shall be sound and confirm to good design, rigid, clean and free of dirt, oil, grease, curing compounds, form release agents or loose plaster and paint. For economy the surfaces should be level and true with in: Walls – 3mm in 2.5m Floors – 1.5mm in 1.0m Surface Preparation:

• If a plaster/leveling mortar bed is applied, ensure that it is cured for at least 7 days to achieve proper strength before application of tile adhesive for installation of tile
• Ensure the substrate is clean and free from impurities like dust, dirt, debris, oil, grease, curing agents, loose plaster etc
• Dampen the wall before application of thin set adhesive
• Clean the back of tile for any dust or coating

Mixing: The products can be mixed by hand or slow speed electric drill mixer (less than 300 rpm). Pour potable clean water in a clean container and then add the powder LATICRETE® 307 and mix until the mixture becomes creamy and plastic. Do not over mix. Leave the mix to slake for 5-10 min and remix before use. Mix only sufficient quantity of adhesive for an immediate need. Proportion: Approximately 1 bag of LATICRETE® 307 with 5-6 ltrs of water. Adjust the quantity of liquid to obtain proper consistency. Installation:

• Wet the surface and remove the excess water before applying the adhesive. Ensure the area is shaded from sunlight. The adhesive shall be applied with the flat side of the trowel using a scraping motion to work the material into good contact with the surface to be covered.
• Additional mortar is then applied with the notched edge of the trowel.
• When installing large tiles, spread adhesive onto the back of tile in addition to trowelling material over a surface to be tiled. Select proper type of notched trowel.

a) Thin Tiles upto size 300 X 300 mm (1’X1’), use a square notched trowel of size 6mm X 6mm to provide a total thickness of 3mm

b) Large Porcelain Tiles upto 450 X 450 mm with ribs, use a square notched trowel of size 6mm X 6mm and back butter the tiles with the same adhesive to a thickness of 1-1.5mm to provide a total thickness of 4.5mm

c) Large Porcelain Tiles upto 600 X 600 mm (2’X2’) with ribs, use a square notched trowel of size 6mm X 9mm and back butter the tiles with the same adhesive to a thickness of 1-1.5mm to provide a total thickness of 6mm

• The most important standard to keep in mind is to insure that the piece of tile is completely bedded in the mortar or adhesive with 100% coverage.
• Rear face of tiles (especially Porcelain tiles) should be cleaned with damp sponge to clean all the dust. Do not saturate in water.
• Excess mortar on adhesive shall be cleaned from the surface of the stone with wet cloth or sponge while the mortar is fresh.

Application Method

• Clean the surface thoroughly. Remove dust, loose particles, oil & grease. Allow it to dry completely.
• Using a cutter, open up the cracks/gaps to form a V-shaped groove. This will help proper application of Seal-It and ensure strong adhesion with the substrate.
• Clean the crack/gap groove thoroughly. Remove all loose particles.
• For best results: Flood the cracks/gaps with Zycosil solution (1 part Zycosil+, 2 parts Zycoprime+ and 20 parts water). Let it dry for 6-8 hours. This ensures that the cracks/gaps are now internally waterproofed.
• Open the Seal-It container, add 5 ml (1 teaspoon) water to it. Scoop Seal ft with a spatula / gloved hand, and push it hard in the cracks/gaps (up to 5 mm width) as deep as possible.

Pre Painting Application

• Allow the Sealift filled cracks/gaps to dry completely. Sand it. Apply primer and paint on it, as per the recommendations of the manufacturer.
